Security for teams sharing live database access

SilentDock gives clients and internal teams secure access to live database records without opening the database to the internet or shipping a custom portal.

Quick answers

The five security questions buyers ask before they book

Where does data live?

Your database stays on your server, VPS, or private network. SilentDock adds an access layer on top of the database you already run.

How does the tunnel work?

You run the SilentDock agent on a machine that can already reach the database. The agent creates the secure outbound path so you do not need to expose the database to the public internet.

Do you store database contents?

SilentDock is designed to operate on your existing database, not copy it into a separate hosted data store. The database remains your source of truth.

How is access revoked?

Access is granted at the user level with roles. You can remove a user, change their role, or shut down the connection path without rotating a shared database password for everyone.

What is logged?

SilentDock supports audit visibility for data changes and access workflows so teams can review who changed what and when.

Architecture

How the access path works

Team or client -> SilentDock dashboard -> encrypted tunnel or internal network path -> your database
  • The database remains on infrastructure you already control.
  • The agent initiates the connection path outward, so routine admin access does not depend on public port exposure.
  • SilentDock is built for teams that already have the database and need a secure workflow layer on top.
Operational controls
  • Role-based access for admins, editors, viewers, and invited collaborators
  • Secure tunnel model for private databases with no public database port requirement
  • Audit visibility for data changes and operational workflows
  • API keys and scoped access patterns for programmatic workflows
  • User-level onboarding and offboarding instead of shared credentials

What SilentDock is

SilentDock is a secure admin and access layer for teams that already have a MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB database. It is designed for client access, partner workflows, support operations, and internal backoffice work on live records.

What SilentDock is not

SilentDock is not a public customer portal builder, a replacement for your production database, or a reason to expose raw database credentials to every person who needs to touch live records.
